Self Portrait Reflection

The strongest area of the portrait is the use of filters. I should have made the images smaller so that more could fit into the portrait. The easy part was using the selection tools and deciding what I wanted to do.  The area of work that can be improved is the the type of filters used for each image and how I chose to layer them on each other. The difficult part of the essay was figuring out exactly how I wanted to arrange the images to make an entirely new portrait. I used a variety of filters, changed up the opacity of certain images, and adjusted brightness. I demonstrated the objective by arranging the specific images that I have been exposed to in an creative way. If I could do this activity again I would make the image brighter and use better images as well as more.

Artist Reflection: Selection Tool Assignment

The strongest area of my work is that I was able to use the selection tools in order to get the full image without any unwanted image residue from the background. I could improve on using the variety of tools together in order to get the most of the image in the final project. This could be accomplished by practicing using the tool more often. Most of the images were easy to select. The bowl, sand dollar, and one of the shells were able to be selected using the quick selection tool. However, this was not possible with the one of the images and it took a considerable amount of time to effectively get the image. I used the selection tools as well as inverted one of the images in order to finish the assignment. The objective was to replicate the picture on the worksheet using the file provided.I demonstrated the objective by remaking the image to the best of my ability. If I could do this project over I would spend more time on the inverting of the blue image.

Artist Reflection: Letter Assignment

The strongest are in my work is creativity. I am a beginner to Photoshop. Since I don't know what I am doing generally I keep using the tools until my image begins to come together. The area of work that I can improve on is carefully choosing colors that compliment each other. This art activity was easy due to the nature of the project. The only thing I needed to do was pick a letter and play with it. The difficult part was deciding how to make a single letter into something entirely different. Tools I used include the paint bucket tool, warp tool, and the type tool. I demonstrated the objective by copying the letter “K” multiple times and then warping it. I would choose a different set of colors.
